CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. – Adults 50 and up can register now through May 6 for Clarksville Parks & Recreation’s 50 Plus Games. The mission of the 50 Plus Games is to encourage participants to maintain an active lifestyle and continue participation in sports and recreational activities through friendly, low-impact competition.

This year’s events will be May 13-18 at venues across Clarksville, including Crow Recreation Center, Swan Lake Sports Complex, Pinnacle Family Entertainment Center, Austin Peay State University Foy Center, Ajax Turner Senior Center, D&D Black Light Mini Golf, Uffelman Estates, and Rossview High School track. Competitors will face off for bragging rights, as well as medals in 28 events, including horseshoes, table tennis, track & field, bowling, basketball free throw, pickleball, 3D black light mini golf, and cycling.

Participants who register before April 20 qualify for the early bird rate of $25. The fee to register April 20 to May 6 is $30. Registration fee includes a complimentary swag bag, dinner ticket, and event T-shirt. Registration for bowling is an additional $6.50 per person, per event, and registration for mini golf is an additional $4 per person. Additional t-shirts (sizes not guaranteed) are also available for purchase for $10 each, while supplies last.

50 Plus Games will begin with a reception at 10 a.m. Monday, May 13 at Uffelman Estates, 215 Uffelman Drive. A closing dinner and awards ceremony will feature a “Rock ‘n’ Roll through the Ages” theme and will begin at 5:30 p.m. Saturday, May 18 at William O. Beach Civic Hall. One ticket for the closing dinner is included in the registration cost for participants, but an additional ticket for a guest may be purchased for $10 each per participant.

Volunteer scorekeepers are needed for each day of competition. No experience is necessary.

As an alternative to online registration, hard copy registration forms are available at the Parks & Recreation office at 102 Public Square or any City of Clarksville recreation center.

50 Plus Games is presented by the Clarksville Parks & Recreation and sponsored by Uffelman Estates, Tiny Town Villages, F&M Bank, Allstate Insurance Morford Agency, Austin Peay State University, Cumberland Bank & Trust, Pinnacle Family Entertainment Center, D&D Black Light Mini Golf, and Montgomery County.
