CLARKSVILLE, Tennessee. – With the COVID-19 pandemic still having a widespread impact, Clarksville Parks & Recreation adapted the traditional three-day Riverfest celebration into nearly two weeks of in-person and virtual events.
The 13th annual Cardboard Boat Regatta took place on Saturday, Sept. 12 as part of the final day of the Riverfest celebration.
Teams gathered at the McGregor Park boat dock to set sail. 11 teams were divided into three races with first place being awarded to the team with the best overall time within each of the four categories below. Other awards were given to teams based on boat design, boat aesthetics, team unity, costumes, and the infamous Titanic Award went to the team who sank the fastest.

- Ship Shape Award- Usain Boat
- Cardboard Queen- Freedom
- Team Unity Award- Front Line Heroes
- Team Attire Award- Island Girls
- Titanic Award- Front Line Heroes

Virtual Talent Show
Saturday, Sept. 12 also marked the end of the Riverfest Virtual Talent Competition. Three musical acts were selected from dozens of entries, and voting took place on ClarksvilleNow.com September 1-12. The band IVEY, a pop/punk/reggae band out of Nashville, TN, was announced as the winner. They will perform before the headliner at Riverfest 2021.
