[ARCHIVED] Clarksville Police officer receives Lifesaver Award

CPD lifesaver award

CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. – Clarksville Police Officer Jonathan Williams was recognized Nov. 8 for his actions during an emergency and was presented with a Lifesaver Award, which is given to officers whose direct actions saves or extends the life of another person.

Officer Williams responded around 10 a.m. on Sept. 19 to a 9-1-1 call at the Marathon Gas Station at 2088 Wilma Rudolph Blvd. A woman, later determined to be the store's clerk, was lying on the floor of the business and not breathing. Williams immediately began performing CPR.

Emergency personnel arrived and the woman was taken to Tennova Medical Center and later transported to Vanderbilt Medical Center. The woman survived the medical emergency and the EMS supervisor on duty said the CPR efforts of Officer Williams greatly contributed to the survival of the patient.

The actions of Officer Williams brought great credit upon himself, the Clarksville Police Department, and the City of Clarksville.
