CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. – Clarksville Gas and Water began sewer main rehabilitation contract work today on an 18-inch gravity sewer main line located on Palamino Drive and Roan Drive.
Contract workers staged equipment in the Palamino Drive neighborhood this week and will be working in phases in the following days to set up a bypass line, clean and prepare the existing line and perform the rehabilitation line work. Once the rehabilitation phase begins, the work will be continuous until its final completion planned for late Friday.
Customer sewer service is not expected to be interrupted during the work, but if any unexpected situations with the work occurs customers affected will be notified immediately.
The sewer work stems from the line failing and emergency repair work done in late June. Plans are underway to investigate all aspects of the sewer system in the area in order to formulate an assessment of any required short, mid and long-term infrastructure improvements. This repair of approximately 320 feet of gravity sewer main line is part of the short-term maintenance and upgrade plan.
