VetFest brings over 700 veterans to Wilma Rudolph Event Center

Vetfest-09

CLARKSVILLE, TN - Over 700 veterans came out to the Wilma Rudolph Event Center on Thursday, Aug 10, for PACT Act VetFest.

The PACT Act is a recently passed law that expands VA helath care and benefits for veterans exposed to burn pits, Agent Orange, and other toxic substances. With 190 veterans receiving free healthcare screenings and another 25 enrolled in healthcare, Montgomery County Director of Continuous Improvement Andrew Kester called the event a huge success.

The City of Clarksville hosted a booth at VetFest, offering vital information concerning the Clarksville Montgomery County Suicide Prevention Alliance, and the National Suicide Prevention Lifeline.
