CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. – The Clarksville Police Department took delivery Wednesday of a new mobile command vehicle. The MCV will serve as a communication and planning center during critical operations when multiple police teams are deployed.
The capabilities of the MCV will be ideal for special events, natural disasters, crisis negotiations, barricaded subjects and long-term field operations. The center offers the flexibility and versatility needed to establish command operations for rapidly developing and changing situations.
Several years of planning went into the procurement of the MCV, which was purchased for $433,300. Two-thirds of the money came from funds derived in illegal drug-seizure operations.
The MCV adds a valuable resource to the police department’s crime fighting tools necessary to protect the public.
