[ARCHIVED] Transit route to service Loaves and Fishes

20210816_110758 1

Clarksville Transit System will alter Route 613, Madison Street bus service, beginning Monday, Aug. 30 to better accommodate patrons who want to visit the new Loaves and Fishes facility at 825 Crossland Ave.

The route currently provides outbound service from the Downtown Transit Center to 3rd Street, Union Street, South 2nd Street and Crossland Avenue. The new  route will provide outbound service to  South 2nd Street to Madison Street, Cumberland Drive, Washington Street and Martin Street.

The decision to update the route came after meeting with Loaves and Fishes Executive Director Ricky Willis and his staff. Loaves and Fishes provides daily meals from 10:30 a.m. to noon Monday-Saturday and also operates a food distribution center.

“After discussions with Mr. Willis and the passengers who regularly use our service to reach the new location, we are pleased to be able to make some route adjustments that will make accessing their services easier for the passengers and help Loaves and Fishes better accomplish their mission,” CTS Director Paul Nelson said.

The newly altered 613 route will service Loaves and Fishes at approximately 36 minutes after the hour and then resume regular route coverage from Martin Street and Crossland Avenue.

Loaves and Fishes will also be serviced on route 613 when inbound taking a left onto Martin Street from Washington Street, 14 minutes after the hour. It will then turn right onto Crossland Avenue and make a right onto Cumberland Drive, and continue on the regular route back to the Transit Center.

These changes will affect only the half-hour Route 613; the hourly Route 611 will remain unchanged.
