CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. – After being voted the 2020 No. 1 Market in America by the American Farmland Trust, the Clarksville Downtown Market will have its 2021 grand opening at 8 a.m. on Saturday, May 15 at Public Square. The first 1,000 guests will receive a "I'm a Fan of the Downtown Market" cooling fan.
The Clarksville Downtown Market is a weekly open-air market featuring farmers and artisans who offer locally grown fresh produce, food items and handcrafted products. The Market has been running since 2009 and strives to provide an opportunity for customers to connect with local businesses while enhancing the quality of life in our community.
This year, 103 vendors and a variety of food trucks will be featured throughout the season.
New to the market this year will be an expanded Kids Zone every other Saturday beginning May 15. The free Kids Zone will be at the Downtown Commons, 215 Legion St., and is a collaboration between the City of Clarksville and Montgomery County. Different activities will be hosted every other Saturday thanks to partnerships with local businesses and organizations.
“Like many of you, I’m happy that the Downtown Market is ready to open,” Mayor Joe Pitts said. “It’s a sure sign that summer fun and fresh produce are here again, and it’s a great downtown anchor where people will be gathering to experience all our growth and excitement.”
The Clarksville Downtown Market is open every Saturday 8 a.m. to 12 p.m. May 15 through October 2 at Public Square. Visit the Clarksville Downtown Market Facebook page for announcements and updates on special events throughout the season!
