ABOUT THE MARKET
Voted the #1 Farmers Market in Tennessee through the American Farmland Trust's 2023 Market Celebration, the Clarksville Downtown Market is more than a marketplace – we are the heartbeat of community connection. We strive to cultivate unity by bringing together individuals and advocating for local farmers and small businesses. At our farmers market, you will find fresh, local produce, local handmade goods, tasty food, and live music, all while supporting sustainable practices that promote a greener future.
Farmers receive first priority for booth spaces. All other vendors will be considered case-by-case based on demand, originality, and quality of the product.
OUR MISSION
Provide access to local food choices and serve as a community-gathering place with a positive atmosphere
Offer area farmers, producers, and artisans sustainable business opportunities
Foster a sense of local pride while furthering the economic development of Clarksville and surrounding communities
OUR STORY
The Clarksville Downtown Market has been connecting local producers and artisans with local shoppers every Saturday from May through October since it was established in 2009. Fresh produce and handcrafted items are available from a variety of regional farmers, small businesses, and non-profits at the outdoor market on Public Square in Historic Downtown Clarksville, Tennessee.
The market offers:
live music
jewelry
season produce
cut flowers and potted plants
seasonings/herbs and freeze dried foods
baked and canned goods
bath body and spa items
home decor
Ready-to-consume items vary from weekend to weekend but may include:
lemonade
popsicles
hot dogs
popcorn
breakfast items
ice cream
breakfast and lunch items
GROWING & FLOURISHING
The market continues to grow and flourish because of the support of the City of Clarksville, our hard-working vendors, and the loyal market customers who purchase items each week. Since the Market’s introduction, it has grown from 16 vendors to over 80. In 2020, the Clarksville Downtown Market was voted the #1 Market in Tennessee for the 10th straight season and the #1 Market in America for the first time ever through the American Farmland Trust organization.
